CHRONIC PAIN and trauma RECOVERY CLASSES

CLASSES TO FEEL BETTER AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER ON THIS JOURNEY

  • In this class I teach Awareness-Based Pain and Trauma Recovery which is a Pilot Program I am developing. See the "Pilot Program" page on this website for a description.


  •  Students do not need to minimize the severity of pain or relive traumatic experiences. This class teaches participants how to relate to pain and trauma with greater safety and inner support utilizing embodied practices.


  • Practices are invitational and adjustable, with an emphasis on choice, pacing, and nervous system safety. The class is taught seated in a chair, but people are welcome to use mats to lie down during the guided meditation.


  • Another aspect of this class is to be a PEER SUPPORT GROUP.  A peer support group can be incredibly important because it offers something  many people with chronic pain or long-term challenges rarely experience: being truly understood. 


  • Peer groups create a space where people can share openly, learn from one another, and feel accepted without needing to explain or defend their experience. This kind of connection can gently reduce fear, shame, and stress, which themselves can intensify pain and suffering. 


  • This class may be appropriate for individuals who:


  • Live with chronic or persistent pain
  • Experience trauma-related symptoms held in the body
  • Feel overwhelmed, fearful, or fused with pain sensations
  • Want a recovery approach that respects both medical care and inner experience
  • Are seeking a compassionate alternative to forcing, fixing, or pushing through pain
